Gü Ice Cream (UK)
Summary: I adore this packaging for Gü products. Designed by UK-based firm, Big Fish, they ooze decadence. Source: The Dieline.com: The Package Design Blog
The logo is just too cute (what is it about umlauts?), and the way it's used against the elegant black background, really elevates its look. On shelves full of bright colors and swirling ingredients, these really stand out in their proud simplicity.
The photography is stunning, and I love how they hero just the product or ingredient. I could dive right in! Finally, the structure of the ice cream and brownie packaging is wonderfully refreshing. It's friendly, stands out on shelf, and makes me want to pick it up.
The best part is that the product is as delicious as its packaging!
"The soft-edged structure makes this so European (think ballotins with chocolate bon bons.) I really like the brand name - I think it's perfect for decadent chewy brownies and other indulgences. Black is a color that works in limited circumstances, and they used it to great effect here while still keeping things clean and polished."
"Working on food packaging every day, I'd have to say that I've never seen this look before. Extremely unique. Although my boss mentioned that it's almost like the iPod/Mac packaging of desserts.... I might have to agree with him, but I'm fascinated by the ice cream container."
"Yael & Bobbi,
I think you're both spot on! I'm glad that the packaging has been inspiring :)
